O - ring seal as flexible perfection
To determine which O - ring can be used , only a few important operating parameters must be defined . The temperature , the pressure and the indication of the chemical resistance determines the selection of the correct O - ring at the right application.
O - rings from Billi - seals are distinguished , depending on the material , by high thermal stability, good chemical resistance and good low temperature flexibility.

Measurement of our O-ring seals:
We supply O-ring seals from 0.74 mm inner diameter x 1.02 cord thickness
up to 2020 mm inner diameter x 8mm cord thickness. The O-rings are standardised according to DIN ISO 3601. Furthermore, special designs are possible.

Due to its cross-section, an O-ring seal can seal axially, but also radially. The O-ring is usually used in a groove. Due to the elasticity and the material`s springback, the O-ring seals from the superposition of the precompression. Therefore, it`s possible to seal very high pressures, as the precompression in the sealing joint always results in a higher pressure than the pressure to be sealed.
O-ring seals are mainly made of elastomers. The following parameters are responsible for a certain use of elastomers in the manufacturing process:
What pressures or vapours must the seal withstand? PTFE can also be used as a material for chemical contact.
There is a table for the selection of suitable materials - the so-called resistance list.
That depends on the application. We supply heat-resistant, acid-resistant or base-resistant O-ring seals. FFKM, for example, can be installed at a heat of up to 330 degrees. Basically, the more heat-resistant an O-ring seal is, the more expensive the material and the manufacture will be. Our specialists will be happy to advise you on which material is best for your application.
